Seventh Heaven
Welcome,
I'm Stefan, and this is the seventh edition of Looking For The Good Stuff, conceived and written at my HQ in Berlin, Germany. Just like Oscar Wilde, I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.
The owl and the pussycat
After Patsy Cline, Bert Kaempfert and Diana Ross, the latest episode of Golden Gems Radio is now putting the light on Barbra Streisand's life and music.
Make sure to listen on the website. Due to copyright restrictions, the podcast only contains snippets of the music.
Loup de loup
When I read "The Mafia of the Acting World": Hollywood's Secret Loop Groups in The Hollywood Reporter, a strange new dimension suddenly was visible. Not exactly Paradiso, rather something more similar to the fourth circle of Inferno.
A culture born out of a love for sound
The feature about Dominican musicólogos in today's The New York Times is a more life affirmative look into another world. Musiologos - music lovers with Dominican roots that install giant customized sound systems in their cars and meet up at car shows to show off their DJ skills. It has become a competitive sport, and the instaladores - those who install the sound systems - lay out the prerequisites.
That's all for today. The next issue will see the light of day tomorrow.
All the best,
Stefan
