Edition 17
Welcome,
I'm Stefan, and this is edition 17 of Looking For The Good Stuff, conceived and written at my HQ in Berlin, Germany. Just like Oscar Wilde, I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.
Hippest trip in America
This month it is 50 years since the Black music and dance show Soul Train became a nationally syndicated show on U.S. TV. The current issue of NPR’s podcast Pop Culture Happy Hours tells the story of Don Cornelius and Soul Train. We get to learn who he was, how the show was put together in 1971 and how it finally fell apart 35 years later.
From John Barry to Hans Zimmer
James Bond is back on the screen. The latest episode of the show Sound of Cinema on BBC Radio 3, presents the music for Bond villains from Goldfinger to Lyutsifer Safin. One hour and three minutes of melodic excitement, with short and narratives about the different evildoers by presenter Matthew Sweet.
The next edition comes tomorrow.
All the best.
Stefan
