Edition 16
Welcome,
I'm Stefan, and this is edition 16 of Looking For The Good Stuff, conceived and written at my HQ in Berlin, Germany. Just like Oscar Wilde, I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.
Nocturne
Almost a month from today, on the 5th of November, the British label Late Night Tales will release a new compilation: At the Movies. It contains a good blend of film music from various genres and ages, from Leonard Bernstein to Vangelis.
The trailer can be heard on both Soundcloud and Youtube. The limited edition ‘glowing in the dark’ LP will also feature Louie Armstrong’s We Have All the Time in the World, from On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
Music speaks louder than words
Today, The Guardian is starting a new feature: The reader interview, where stars from film and music answer questions from the readers. Legendary soul singer Candi Staton is first out, and the title is When the promoters tried not to pay I had to get my gun out.
Tapdancing in Technicolor
Dancer on Film is a great account to follow on Twitter! Today’s most fabulous clip is this dancing scene from Happy Go Lovely (1951). It starts with tap dancing and ends with swing! 2 minutes and 20 seconds of true bliss!
The next edition arrives on Monday.
All the best.
Stefan
